Incoming freshmen eligible for Laptop Scholarship for spring semester

December 19 2006

Incoming freshmen who enroll in Indiana State University for the 2007 spring semester will be eligible for the university’s Laptop Scholarship Award, the university announced Tuesday.

New for the 2006-07 school year, the Laptop Award provides a free business grade Lenovo ThinkPad computer to students who graduate high school with a 3.0 grade point average or above (on a 4.0 scale) and complete the Indiana Core 40 curriculum or its equivalent. Requirements for the Laptop Award apply to those new students who enter the university as first time new freshmen.

Registration for the spring semester at Indiana State takes place Jan. 4-5.

About 700 incoming freshmen received the award for the just completed fall semester. High school seniors who will graduate in 2007 and plan to attend Indiana State next fall are also eligible for the award if they are admitted to the university by March 1.
