Terre Haute business leader Lowery is new university trustee

Lowery is president and chief executive officer of First Financial Bank and vice chairman and CEO of First Financial Corp.
“As a graduate of Indiana State and a community leader, Norm Lowery has been a long-time advocate for our university. He understands and supports the role the university can play in improving our local economy, revitalizing downtown and preparing an educated work force. I look forward to working with him to advance both our institution and our community,†said Lloyd W. Benjamin III, president of Indiana State University.
An attorney, Lowery is a member of the national, state and local bar associations, the national and state trial lawyer associations and the Indiana and American Bankers Association. He received his law degree from the Indiana University School of Law - Indianapolis.
Lowery is a member of the Terre Haute Economic Development Corp., is past president and board member of the Terre Haute Chamber of Commerce, past chairman and board member of the Wabash Valley Community Foundation, and past president, board member and past campaign chair of the United Way of the Wabash Valley.
His appointment to the board is effective immediately and will expire July 1, 2007.
