The concert,"Bernstein and Gershwin: America's 20th century musical legends," will feature several guest soloists and the ISU Symphonic Band, conducted by Daniel Peo, and the ISU Symphonic Wind Ensemble, under the direction of Doug Keiser.
Bernstein works on the program will include "Slava", selections from "West Side Story," and several musical scenes from "Candide," featuring tenor David Mannell and soprano Laura Stelman.
Gershwin numbers will include "Cuban Overture," "An American in Paris," Embraceable You" featuring soprano Peggy Balensuela, "Rhapsody in Blue" with piano soloist Martha Krasnican, and "Catfish Row," featuring soprano Colleen Davis and tenor Damien Geter.
The concert is sponsored by the ISU music department, Conservatory of Music, WFIU Radio and the Terre Haute Tribune Star.
Admission is $5 for students and $10 for adults, with special patron tickets available for $30 that includes attendance at a reception following the program hosted by ISU President and Mrs. Lloyd Benjamin.
