Concert Band, along with ensembles, perform April 19

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -" The Indiana State University Concert Band, Symphonic Band Brass, Brass Quintet and Simply Blue Saxophone Quartet will present a concert at 7:30 p.m. April 19 in Tilson Auditorium.

The Concert Band is under the direction of Dennis Ballard. Also on the podium during the Concert Band portion of the program will be Kevin Swift, graduate conductor, and student conductors Karie Swift, Aaron Stoelting and Matt Lindley.

Among the works to be performed by the Concert Band are Carl Strommen’s “Flourish for a Celebration,” “Brighton Beach March” by William Latham, Fred Allen’s “Bosnian Folk Songs,” “The Light Eternal” by James Swearingen, “American Riversongs” by Pierre LaPlante and “Not Afraid to Dream” by Brian Balmages.

Symphonic Band Brass, under the direction of Daniel Peo, will perform “Beethoven for Brass: A Suite” while the Brass Quintet performs three madrigals from “The Triumphs of Oriana.” The Simply Blue Saxophone Quartet will perform David Maslanka’s “Mountain Roads.”
