ISU ranked among the 'Best In The Midwest' For Sixth Time

The Princeton Review has named Indiana State University as among the Best in the Midwest for the sixth year in a row.
In its just released results for 2010, the New York City-based education services company selected Indiana State as one of 158 institutions it recommends as among the "Best in the Midwest," a region the company defines as extending from the Dakotas south to Kansas and east through Ohio. The selections are based on data submitted by colleges and universities and surveys of students.
"Continued recognition of Indiana State as one of the best universities in the Midwest sends a strong signal to students and parents that the investment they are making in an ISU education is a sound one," said university President Daniel J. Bradley. "This recognition is especially gratifying because it is based largely on surveys of our students who recognize the dedication of our talented faculty members and the real-world education they receive at ISU."
The company found that Indiana State offers "a good education at a reasonable cost" and that students can expect a "really special" experience. Students responding in anonymous surveys stated that ISU's "small class size and amount of individual attention" and "faculty and student body make it really great."
Another student wrote, "I think that students and professors are closer to each other and interact more than they would at a larger school." A student also stated that the professors are "exceptional, down-to-earth and approachable."
From the small class size to the quality professors, students wrote that ISU helps them "to grow personally, intellectually and socially."
Rob Franek, author of the 2010 edition of "Princeton Review Best Colleges," said universities chosen had to meet academic excellence within their region.
"Our decision to produce this feature is fueled by a desire to raise awareness of academically excellent but lesser-known colleges for students looking to study within a specific geographic region," he said.
Princeton Review also has named Indiana State's Master of Business Administration program as one of the nation's best for the past three years.
