Josh Powers, Indiana State University department chair of educational leadership, has been selected for the second annual Association of University Technology Managers (AUTM) 2010 Volunteer of the Year Award.
"I was humbled and honored to hear that I had been selected for this award. I was also completely surprised," said Powers
AUTM is a professional association of about 3,500 professionals who specialize in academic commercialization and associated patenting and licensing activities. The members select award winners based on personal achievements and involvement in the organization.
"It does make one feel good to be recognized for your work and in this case, my efforts to build bridges between scholars and practitioners," he said.
Powers has been a part of the organization for 10 years. He has served on the scholar committee and was involved in the development of the graduate student literature review prize.
He will be awarded in March at the annual AUTM meeting in New Orleans.
