Nancy Cobb Lippens, Indiana State University School of Music's director will present a recital of her original compositions Wednesday, Oct. 5 at 7:30 p.m. in the University Hall Theater.
The works included on the concert span about 27 years of Cobb Lippens's writing, which she publishes under the pen name Nancy Hill Cobb. The most recently composed work on the program, "Three Psalms," a choral work based on three Psalms for solo voice in a chamber setting, will have its premiere performance by School of Music Faculty David Mannell, tenor; Kurt Fowler, cello; and Martha Krasnican, piano.
Cobb Lippens describes the concert has having, "A lot of variety in instrumental and vocal combinations." The musicians that will take the stage are also varied with the Terre Haute Children's Choir performing "Cantate Domino," Indiana State University Sycamore Singers delivering "In the Beginning" and "Blessing" and 12 faculty members from the School of Music performing a variety of compositions.
