He has been a faculty member at Indiana State since 2001. In addition to the IBEA award, he has also won the Delta Pi Epsilon Outstanding Research Award, among many others.Wilhelm said that he was honored "to be recognized by such highly engaged educators."

"The award is from an organization of professional teachers who recognized my work over the years in preparing future business teachers for successful careers in our schools," Wilhelm said. "Many of our ISU graduates hold leadership positions in Indiana business education and we all mentor young teachers to that they can provide the best education to their students."

Barbara Beadle received the Friend of Business Education award. Beadle graduated from Indiana State with her bachelor's degree in 1965 and her master's degree in 1972. She was also recognized as a Distinguished Alumni in 2007.

Beadle has served as the business and marketing education specialist at the Indiana Department of Education for most of her career. She was also the interim state advisor for Business Professionals of America (BPA) and DECA as well as an independent educational consultant.

"The IBEA distinguished service award should go to all of the teachers I have worked with over the past 20 plus years at the Indiana Department of Education," Beadle said. "They worked diligently and faithfully to provide curriculum for business and marketing teachers throughout the state of Indiana... This award is the culmination of 35 plus years of working in business and marketing education and I thank IBEA for honoring me at the close of my career."
