Students in the 21st Century Scholars program journeyed to Orange County June 19, home to one of Indiana's last remaining strands of virgin timber, the state's second oldest courthouse still in operation and a domed hotel once dubbed the "eighth wonder of the world." It's a county so full of hills and sinkholes even a river can get lost. Indiana's 21st Century Scholars program guarantees a college or university education to students who follow through on a pledge signed in the 7th or 8th grade to abstain from alcohol and other drugs and remain crime free and graduate from an Indiana high school with at least a C average.
