Alana Bentley was elected governor of the 30th annual Hoosier Girls State, sponsored by American Legion Auxiliary District 11, Unit 64. Bentley (pictured at right in DSC_0047) was elected to the highest office by a majority vote of the nearly 800 delegates at HGS on the campus of ISU June 20-27. During the weeklong experience of American governmental operations, the girls are assigned to either the Nationalist or Federalist party and take part in the creation of a mythical "51st" state, Hoosier Girls State.
