Indiana State University's 79th Founders Day was Tuesday, Jan. 27, in Heritage Lounge, Tirey Hall. This year's event featured two speakers Dr. Diane Adkisson Cargile '70, 71 and Cynthia Berry Powers '69, '70, both of whom spoke of the impact their years at ISU impacted their lives. John Newton, executive director of Alumni Affairs presided over the ceremony, and ISU President Lloyd W. Benjamin III provided welcoming remarks. Also addressing the group were: Jessica Robertson, board of trustees member and current ISU student; Megan McManama, president of the Student Government Association; and Patrick Bell, president of the Alumni Association Board of Directors. Bell and Doug Huntsinger, president of the Student Alumni Association and representative of the Class of '04, carried out the traditional Book and Torch Ceremony.
