Each year, incoming freshmen participate in the Sycamore tradition "March Through the Arch" at Third and Cherry streets (signature piece). Their walk through the arch symbolizes the transition from high school to college life. Before the march, the freshman attend the President's Convocation, which includes a message from ISU President Lloyd W. Benjamin III.
