More than 500 high school students in Indiana and Illinois gathered on campus Nov. 12 for Tech TREK (Technology, Resources, Education, Knowledge). Each school was allowed to bring up to 15 teams of four students. Students were able to participate in a variety of technology-related activities. One of the most popular sessions was called Crash Test Dummies, in which students created an apparatus that could withstand an impact without breaking a fragile object contained inside the apparatus. Other activities included Duct Tape Fanatic (which concluded with a fashion show to model shoes made with duct tape), junk yard genius and package design and development.
