Julie Bertel is a 35 year old mother of 3 who commutes from the southside of Indianapolis. She works the weekend option in the Emergency Department for St. Francis Hospitals. Julie has been there for 4 years and absolutely loves what she does. She enjoys taking care of people especially children - she loves smiling and laughing with them and being an advocate or supportive shoulder when patient's or their families need it. When Julie has spare time, she spends it with her children. She also enjoys drawing and spending time on their boat.
Jill Frisz expresses her sincere thanks to the donors for awarding her with this scholarship. Jill is a sophomore nursing student from Paris, IL. She is excited for her journey in the nursing profession. Jill hopes to graduate from ISU with a B.S. with a major in nursing and would like to continue on in her education.
Jason Heck is a 31 year old husband and father of 3 living in Rosedale Indiana. Jason is beginning his junior year of the nursing program and is also pursuing a minor in psychology. Jason enjoys coaching his son’s baseball team, weightlifting, and doing many different activities with his family outdoors. Jason recently signed a commitment agreement with St. Vincent’s hospital in Clay County for employment upon graduation. Jason would like to express his gratitude to the committee in regards to the Helen Boswell Robinson Scholarship.
Dara Reberger will be a senior in the Fall of 2011 with a major in Nursing and a minor in Psychology. She is the daughter of David and Diana Reberger and the younger sister of Dava Reberger, alumni of Indiana State University. After college, Dara wishes to work in the nursing field while continuing her education during graduate school. She would like to thank the Nursing Scholarship committee and Indiana State University for awarding her with the Helen Boswell Robinson Scholarship for the second year as this will greatly aid in her education.
Wesley Switzer sophomore nursing student from Marshall, IL. He plans on graduating from ISU with a B.S. with a major in nursing and would like to attend graduate school soon after. Wesley would like to express his appreciation for this award and the financial assistance it will provide.
