Professor Mallory is a graduate of Texas Christian University (BS, Nursing, 1973). She has worked as medical surgical staff nurse and emergency room nurse in West Lafayette, Indiana and for a U.S. Army hospital in Heidelberg Germany. She obtained her Master of Science in Nursing (Indiana University, 1978) and subsequently taught at Indiana State University (1978-1983). Mallory earned a PhD (Nursing, 1986) from Texas Woman’s University. She served as Director of Obstetric, Gynecologic, Pediatric, and Neonatal units, as well as the Director of Nursing Research at Union Hospital in Terre Haute during 1986-1989. She worked as a Level 3 staff nurse in labor and delivery from 1989-1991. She has been a women’s health nurse practitioner since 1997.
Since 1992 Dr. Mallory has been a faculty member of Indiana State University. Mallory also has worked as a nurse practitioner (women’s health) on a part or full time basis as her schedule has allowed. She serves as a Commander in the U. S. Navy Nurse Corps (Reserve status). With the new departmental structure in the College, she is now Chairperson of the Department of Advanced Practice Nursing.
