Dale Ann O'Neal started her teaching career at Indiana State University in the Fall of 1975. Prior to coming to ISU, she served in the Army Nurse Corps, taught at a Diploma School of Nursing in Texas, worked on a medical surgical unit of Union Hospital, and was a mental health consultant for the Visiting Nurse Association of Greater St. Louis, Missouri.

Mrs. O'Neal teaches Nursing Care of Families in Stress and Crises to on-campus junior nursing students and to two sections of distance students.  She also teaches the capstone course NURS 486 to the on-campus senior nursing students. Her area of interests include the First Year Experience, Family Systems Theory, Family Therapy, Grief and Bereavement Theory, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and Critical Incident Stress Management.

Mrs. O'Neal has served in faculty government and in the role of Student Liaison during her 33 years at Indiana State University.
