Jan Weust is responsible for the campus based Nursing 424 (Nursing
Care of Adults III) theory and clinical. In 1986, Jan obtained her
Associate of Science with a major in Nursing from Indiana State
University. She completed her Baccalaureate of Science in Nursing
in 2000 from Indiana Wesleyan University. In 2005, she completed her
Master’s of Science degree in Community Health Nursing from Indiana
Wesleyan University.
Jan has 24 years of nursing experience as a registered nurse in a
variety of roles during her nursing career. At Union Hospital, she
has worked as a medical surgical staff nurse, an endoscopy nurse and as
a Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Specialist in the Education
Department.
Jan taught at Ivy Tech Community College of the Wabash Valley as a
nursing instructor for three years. Also, she taught as adjunct faculty
for Indiana State University College of Nursing, Health, and Human
Services in the Baccalaureate nursing program.
Recently she was the Chief Nursing Officer at Sullivan County Community
Hospital. As Chief Nursing Officer her duties included; managing,
directing and facilitating eight nursing departments. She was also
responsible for gathering, reviewing and reporting data related to
specific nursing projects.
Jan is an active member of the West Central Indiana Health Education
Center and sits on both their Advisory and Executive Boards. She
is an American Heart Association Basic Life Support Instructor. She was
inducted into Sigma Theta Tau in 2000.
