Marilyn Sample has taught in the nursing programs at ISU since 1978. Prior to that, she taught at the University of Southern Mississippi and worked as a nurse in various hospitals in Tennessee, Mississippi and Kansas. Since coming to I.S.U., she has primarily taught mental health nursing courses in the second and third years of the curriculum.
Professor Sample has also volunteered at St. Ann's Clinic and worked
as a nurse at
Regional Hospital and
Hamilton Center.
She is currently very active in faculty government and student
advisement via Sycamore Advantage. Professor Sample is enjoying
teaching students in the prenursing courses of
NURS 104 and
NURS 106 and those in the mental health course of
NURS 226.
