Patti Jones began her nursing career in 1974 when she graduated with
her BSN degree from Indiana State University. She worked with
adult medical-surgical patients for several years before returning to
school for her MSN degree from
Indiana University,
where she majored in adult care with a minor in teacher education.
While completing her master’s degree, she worked as a clinical
instructor with medical-surgical nursing students.
Patti began her teaching career at Indiana State University in 1981.
She has taught in the adult medical-surgical courses, but her love is
working with fundamentals students. She enjoys introducing
students to the introductory nursing skills and concepts.
Patti is active in nursing committees and in the Nursing Honorary –
Sigma Theta Tau,
where she recently served as counselor for the
Lambda Sigma chapter. It was her great honor to receive the
Excellence in Nursing Education Award in 1994 and the Excellence in
Nursing Mentorship Award in 1999 and in 2006 from the chapter.
