Dr. Suzanne Gosse is responsible for
Nursing 424, high acuity nursing. Her career began with graduation
from Indiana
University, Kokomo. She has practiced in a variety of settings
including intensive care units and the operating room. Dr. Gosse has
also been a nurse manager and hospital supervisor. She completed a MS
degree at Ball
State University in 1995.Her master’s thesis compared critical
thinking skills of expert nurses by practice area. She completed a PhD
in nursing at
The Ohio State University in 2007.
As a staff development coordinator, clinical instructor and lecturer at
The Ohio State University, Dr. Gosse was responsible for student nurse
and RN job related competency assessment and education. She has taught
fundamental to advanced skills for nursing students as well as
professional development topics for nurses.
Dr. Gosse has completed nursing research using the Leventhal Model of
self-regulation to explain diabetes self-management behavior. She is
active in several organizations, including the
American Association of
Critical Care Nurses,
Midwest Nursing Research Society and the
American
Diabetes Association.
