Advanced Standing

Indiana State University offers students an opportunity to earn credit by examination.

University policies for granting credit by examination are applied for General Education courses*. 

Information about earning credit by exam is also available in the Office of Student Affairs.

The University transfer policy as explained in the University catalog is applied for non-cognate general education courses.

The appropriate department chairperson evaluates cognate General Education course(s)* for transfer credit.

Application of transfer credit for nursing courses toward partial fulfillment of course requirements is determined on an individual basis.

 

*Revisions to the General Education Program are in process.  The new Foundational Studies Program will be in effect for those students entering ISU beginning Fall 2010.
