Technology Infrastructure Services

Welcome

The department of the Office of Information Technology implements and maintains the campus-wide infrastructure for the delivery of technology and technology-based services.

Bob Barley, Director

Bob Barley currently is the Director of Technology Infrastructure Services at Indiana State University. He has served in this capacity since July 2002. In this role, he has overall responsibility for the campus voice, video and communication networks and many enterprise communication technologies in addition to all centrally supported and maintained servers, campus data centers and centralized information technology security functions. Bob represents and provides overall direction for an organization consisting of twenty eight staff, guidance for an Infrastructure and IT Security management team consisting of five dedicated professionals and assistance and leadership in the development and management of projects. In addition, Bob seeks and prioritizes resources within the organization and either chairs or participates on a number of strategic, technical and financial planning efforts throughout the University.

Bob received technical certifications from the Community College of the Air Force prior to earning his undergraduate degree from Minot State University and his MBA from the University of Central Missouri. Prior to his tenure at ISU, Bob was Director of Networking and Training Services for the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and served as Network Manager and part time faculty with the Oregon Institute of Technology. His earlier career was spent working in the defense industry.
