ICS will provide the community with timely, effective and meaningful solutions for accessing centralized information.
Vicki Winn is the Director of Institutional Computing Services within the Office of Information Technology. She is responsible for directing the activities of a staff of 14 to maintain and improve centralized institutional and academic software products such as Banner, ImageNow, Argos, Blackboard and 32 additional software products.
Vicki is an Air Force veteran where she was trained as a programmer. She continued working in the field of information technology in wholesale, retail and insurance businesses until coming to ISU in 1980 as a programmer analyst. Her position was changed SIS Coordinator in 1983. In 2003 her position was changed to Assistant Director, ICS and in 2004 was moved to Director, Institutional Computing Services.
Vicki has a bachelor's degree in Computer Technology from Purdue University and an MBA from Indiana State University

UC4 provides the capability and flexibility to schedule jobs for distributed environments. UC4 includes features which allows the ability to make scheduling decisions based on queries of the database using predecessors, conditions and substitution variables.

Argos is a reporting toold developed by Evisons, Inc. It provides the capability and fexibility to report against multiple files and/or databeses. Argos has the ability to schedule reports that can be burst and emailed to different user offices.

Account Request
To use Argos, you will first need a valid Banner Logon ID. Then you will need to request access
from the department owning the reports you need to view. The departments currently offering Argos reports are:

Evisions FormFusion has Multimedia Demos available on the Evisions website, http://www.evisions.com/support/tutorial.asp. Choose the appropriate tutorial and click the “Download Now” button. You will have the option to Run or Save the demonstration.

These tutorials are for an older version of FormFusion than what is installed here at ISU. Functionally, it works just the same but some of the icons are slightly different.
Different browsers may handle these links differently. Netscape may give you only one option - to save the file to your PC. You would then need to run the tutorial as a separate operation. Internet Explorer may give you two choices - to save the file to your PC or to run it immediately. Users should follow normal PC practices in dealing with the prompts and windows that appear on the screen.
If you run more than one tutorial, you will need to close out the Lotus ScreenCam Window from the prior tutorial before beginning the next tutorial, else you will receive an error message.

ISU has implemented a university portal from the vendor Campus Pipeline, Inc. The MyISU Portal is a secured intranet for all ISU community members. It is the gateway for official university information and it gives access to many self-services for students, faculty and staff. The portal's URL is myisu.indstate.edu.

Targeted Announcement Administrators will need to be granted access in order to post a Targeted Announcement. Channel Administrators will need to be granted access to be able to build and maintain channels.

1. Access the system from your Windows system by going to All Programs -> Accessories -> Remote Desktop Connection

2. Computer to connect to is: 139.102.9.101.

3. Click Connect. If you are prompted for a username and password before the Remote Desktop window opens, enter your Sycamore Login name and leave the password field blank.

4. The "User name:" field should contain your Sycamore Login username and the "Passcode:" is the number that appears on the RSA SecureID token that was given to you. The "Log on to:" field should say ISUAD. Click the OK button.

5. Select "I will create my own PIN" and enter a PIN number that is 6 to 8 numbers long in both the "PIN:" and "Confirm PIN:" fields and click the OK button.

6. Following the instructions on the dialog box that pops up, wait until the number on the RSA SecureID token changes and then click the OK button.

7. You will be back at the main login screen. In the "Passcode:" field, enter the PIN number that you have created along with the new number that is on the RSA SecureID token. (i.e. if the PIN you created was 079685 and your RSA SecureID token has the number 218599 on it, you would enter 079685218599 in the "Passcode:" field.)

8. You will then enter your Network password. This should be the same as your Novell Password.

9. You will need to click the OK button on the "Indiana State University - LEGAL NOTICE" dialog box.

10. Select the "Banner Forms" Internet Shortcut that is on the desktop.

11. You can select the checkbox for "Always trust content from this publisher" and then click the Run button.

12. You are now ready to sign in to Banner like normal.

Standard Server Maintenance Times
Maintenance on production systems (see list below) is scheduled from 8:00pm- midnight on the first Friday of each month; during these periods the respective system access will be restricted to technical personnel.
Maintenance on test systems is scheduled from 8:00pm- midnight the last Friday of each month; during these periods the respective system access will be restricted to technical personnel.
Mandatory maintenance that can't be postponed until the monthly scheduled maintenance window will be conducted between 8:00pm and midnight on the first available Friday - in those cases, users will be provided with as much advance notification as possible.
Critical security patches that can't be postponed until either of the above maintenance windows will be performed between 4:00am- 6:00am of the day following the patch release - while cases of critical patches are somewhat rare, they represent significant risk events - users will be notified as soon as possible but need to expect short notification due to the emergency and unplanned nature of such patches.
