Follow the following steps to upload security files for Windows 2000:

ISU Student

  1. If your computer is running extremely slow, please unplug your network cable before installing the following files.


  2. Click on the links below in the order they are shown and follow the instructions listed out for each one.


  3. After you have completed all of the steps, (if your port has been deactivated) call the Help Desk at 812-237-2910 to have your network port reactivated.

1. Stinger

  • Click the link above (1. Stinger) to run this executable file.


  • If Windows 2000 prompts with a security warning, click Open.


  • The program will begin.


  • Click Scan Now to begin scanning your computer for known viruses, trojans, and variants.

2. Service Pack 4

  • Click the link above (2. Service Pack 4) to run this executable file.


  • If Windows 2000 prompts with a security warning, click Open.


  • The file will then extract.


  • At the "Welcome to Setup Wizard" screen, click Next.


  • Read and agree to the license agreement, check the "I Agree" box and click Next.


  • At the "Select Options" screen, click Next.


  • Once finished, you will be asked to reboot your computer.

3. AutoPatcher 2000

  • Click the link above (3. AutoPatcher XP) to run this executable file.


  • If Windows 2000 prompts with a security warning, click Open.


  • Click on the "I Accept the AutoPatcher End-User License Agreement" button and click Next.


  • Click Update.


  • Click Finish.


  • Once finished, you will be asked to reboot your computer.
