From your desktop click on the apple to open the menu as shown in Figure 3a.
Click on System Preferences

After you click on the System Preferences from the menu the window called System Preferences will open as shown in Figure 3b
Click on Network from the Internet & Network Area

After you click on Network in System Preferences a window called Network will open as shown in 3c
In the Network window change show to Built-in Ethernet or if you have a Ethernet card select it instead
At the bottom left-side of the window you will see your twelve-digit, hardware Ethernet address. In this example the Ethernet address is 00:05:02:ad:46:3f. Write your Ethernet address down so you can take it to another PC or Mac
