IT Work Experience Program

Print View

The IT work experience program provides undergraduate students with computer-related majors the opportunity to utilize their education and technical skills.

To provide the student experiential learning, Indiana State University and the United Way of the Wabash Valley announced the formation of a collaborative effort designed to explore ways in which ISU can assist United Way member agencies in meeting some of their technology goals and support needs. Areas considered might include such things as web-site hosting, assistance with software, technology problem solving, technology plans/proposal development, technology literacy and training, etc.

In the summer of 2004 a group of innovative students collaborated to form the company Sycamore Technology Solutions (STS). STS is a student managed and operated company designed to fulfill the technology goals and support needs of the United Way member agencies and other not-for-profit organizations.

Students in the IT work experience program will become part of the Sycamore Technology Solutions company. For more information about STS, visit their Web site at http://www.indstate.edu/sts.
