Guest AccountGuest personal accounts for use of the computing and networking facilities of Indiana State University are very attractive and often necessary privileges for associates and guests of the University. The University's participation in various state and national networks, the expansion of licensed software, and the growth in guest accounts require that we periodically review these accounts for their continued appropriateness. In general, guest accounts are available only for the special situations described in this policy. Granting of guest account privileges will be made only as the result of a written request from the department chair or the head of an appropriate University office. The request must be for a specific period of time, with the maximum period being one year. It must also indicate which privileges are to be extended (i.e. email, Internet access, specific software applications) and any specific restrictions. Privileges may be renewed upon written request from the sponsoring department or office. Send requests to the Director of User Services, Yancy Phillips. Guest accounts are available for the following general categories.
Guest accounts and access privileges may also be provided to other non-profit organizations with close ties to the University (e.g. Children's Museum of Technology). Requests for this type of organization must be referred to the Executive Director for Information Technology. Annual review and renewal of these accounts will be required.
