How to find ethernet address in Windows 7/Vista.

Click on the Windows symbol as shown in figure 1
Click on Control Panel as shown in figure 1

When the Network Connections window opens as shown in Figure 2c (Yours should look similar but you may have other connections present) double click on Local Area Connection.

Click on the Details button

A window called Network Connection Details will open as shown in Figure 2e
The Physical Address is your adapter (Hardware) address, this is the number the IT Help Desk will need to register your computer in the BootP server.
