About
The Instructional Tools Support area provides assistance to students and faculty with technology used in teaching and learning ITS consists of two support groups, Student Tech Support in the Library, and the Instructional Tools Support Center in Normal Hall.
Exceptional student employees run the Student Tech Support group as a technology outreach for students. The mission is to bridge the gap between the technical knowledge students have, and the knowledge they are expected to have to complete their academic work. We allow students to spend less time trying to teach themselves the technology and more time learning their class content. Student Tech Support in the Library offers training sessions over common topics, will do customized workshops for classes, and offers one-on-one training at the support desk. Additionally, students may join our Facebook page and we will respond to questions online.
In the Instructional Tools Support Center, students and faculty can get assistance with the Blackboard and many other applications used for instruction such as Tegrity and Turning Technology clicker systems. We can schedule one-on-one help sessions, and visit a classroom to provide tutorials. In addition, we provide over the phone and walk-in support.
Where to go for help
In person
Student Tech Support in the Library – First floor, behind the printers. Able to assist students with problems that involve how to use software. Will also look at malfunctioning computers for a quick fix, or referral to the Student Computer Support Center.
Instructional Tools Support Center – Normal Hall, room 101
Help faculty and students with instructional technology, including Blackboard
and all of its affiliated programs such as Respondus and Tegrity.
