ISU State Mobile Smart Phone Application

Indiana State University has released a new free mobile application for smartphones that will keep students, staff, and faculty in touch with their campus from any location at any time of day.  ISU Mobile will replace the University’s current mobile application, State Mobile. Beginning October 13th, the State Mobile application will stop working in all the devices. In the ISU Mobile App, people will be able to access Class information (grades, connect to Blackboard, review course catalog, etc.), student and staff directory, interactive campus map, events, athletic information, library, emergency phone numbers and campus news by downloading the application to an iPhone or Android.


What version of my phone do I need to use the application?

Android users will have to have Android OS 2.2 or higher
Apple users will have to have iPhone or iPod Touch OS 3.0 or later, iPad OS 3.2 or later

If you do not have Android or iOS devices, you can visit http://m.indstate.edu/info/ from your mobile browser.

When will the State Mobile application be available?

For Android OS users - available now
For Apple (iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad) users - available now

Where can I get the application?

They can be downloaded from the appropriate app store (Android Market or iTunes App Store) or by going to www.indstate.edu/app from your smartphone’s browser.

What information does the application offer?

Classes – Browse for available courses by college, view important details including location and instructor’s contact information, view grades, and connect to Blackboard to view discussion, class materials, etc.

Directory – Search by first and last name for phone numbers, email addresses and location for ISU students, faculty and staff. **Note that contact details vary and are informed by individual privacy settings.**

Map – Navigate around ISU’s campus be searching for classroom buildings and offices. The map will display the location, and you can zoom in, zoom out or scroll in any direction. You can also browse locations by type, such as academics or athletics.

Events – Find out what’s going on today at ISU or coming up soon. Events from the ISU calendar are available by category with the date, time and location. Where available, you can click on the event’s location to see it on the map.

Athletics – Get the latest scores and news about the Sycamores.

Library – Use the mobile services and view the web sites of the University’s libraries.

News – Get the latest news from the ISU newspaper which features news about the ISU community, arts and culture, and science and research. You can share articles using email, Facebook or Twitter.

Social – Get the latest bout the ISU community from Facebook and Twitter.

Video – View YouTube videos posted by ISU including special events, athletics and student organizations.

Links – List of additional Indiana State University sites.

Emergency – Be informed of critical information on the ISU campus and get easy access to important emergency contact information.
