What do Instructional Design Specialists do at ISU?

With three Instructional Design (ID) Specialists (supporting both online and face-to-face courses), we encourage you to take advantage of the extra assistance offered to design and maintain your online and traditional courses. Our office provides the following services:

  • One-on-One Consulting
  • Small-Group Training
  • Department Visits
  • Course Design/Modification
  • Technology/Software Recommendations
  • Technology/Multimedia Integration Assistance
  • Course Evaluation

Through collaboration with ISU faculty, our ID Specialists will help you to design meaningful, interactive courses via careful analysis and the development of engaging content and purposeful assessments. They are also available to assist you with the integration of basic and advanced Blackboard features and are knowledgeable in instructional theories and best practice methodologies.

To set up an appointment, please call 812-237-2345. After an initial conversation to establish your exact needs and provide insight for future discussions, you will meet with your ID Specialist in a collaborative effort. Over-the-phone, face-to-face, or virtual consultations are available to help accommodate all schedules and needs.
