The Department of Physical Education offers both undergraduate and graduate programs.
Whether pursuing a teaching license in the field of physical education or a career specializing in adult fitness and exercise science, the Department of Physical Education aptly equips students with the experience and confidence they’ll need to meet the challenges of their chosen profession.
Students have the opportunity for on-site learning experiences in educational and professional settings and in laboratory experiences with nationally recognized faculty in areas such as biomechanics, exercise physiology and motor learning.
Graduates will find a growing demand for their skills and know-how in
settings ranging from personal training and hospital wellness programs
to coaching and teaching physical education programs. In addition,
through the physical fitness requirements of Indiana State’s *General
Education program, students will develop physical fitness and sports
skill through activities like dance, martial arts, general fitness
courses and more.
The Catalog of Indiana State University is the document of authority for all students. The requirements given in the catalog supersede information issued by any academic department, program, college, or school. The University reserves the right to change the requirements at any time.
*Revisions to the General Education Program are in process. The new Foundational Studies Program will be in effect for those students entering ISU beginning Fall 2010.
