Students should be thoroughly familiar with the requirements for the teaching curriculum and admission to the Teacher Education Program.
Additionally, students will follow the College of Education's required sequence of professional courses and admission requirements.

The teacher education major provides the student with theoretical knowledge combined with practical application working with students in area schools. Beginning in the freshman year, students are are progressively guided through learning experiences which prepare them for a career in teaching.
Numerous opportunities are included in which concepts of teaching are applied in high school, middle school, and elementary school settings. The culmination of the program is student teaching which provides a semester-long teaching experience.
Students enjoy small classes taught by professors recognized nationally for their expertise in teacher education.
This major may be added to the All Grade Education Instructional
License and its coverage is all grades.
