Generally, the
study of philosophy focuses on such topics as logic, ethics, and
how we understand the universe. At ISU, our major consists of 30
credit hours (ten courses). Most of these courses may be
chosen by the student, depending on individual interests.
ISU creates a comfortable learning atmosphere as philosophy
upper-level class sizes range from between ten to 20 students.
You will find the smaller class sizes make it easier to
participate in discussions and creates a sense of camaraderie.
The Department of Philosophy also offers our students the
convenience of a philosophy library located within the
department. Our faculty, though actively involved in
research and conferences, recognize that teaching is their main
focus and are easily accessible for discussion and advisement. |
