
Welcome to the Department of Political Science
The Department of Political Science offers majors in both Political Science and Legal Studies. It also offers minors in these areas as well as in Civic Leadership and Public Administration.
At the graduate level, the department houses the Master’s of Public Administration degree program in addition to graduate certificate programs in public administration and in public personnel administration. The MPA and the certificate programs can be taken online.

Legal Studies Senior Recognized for Civic & Community Engagement
Analyssa Noe, a Legal Studies major with minors in Civic Leadership and Women's Studies, will receive the President's Award for Civic and Community Engagement at the Winter 2009 Commencement ceremony.
Indiana Court of Appeals Visits ISU
The Indiana Court of Appeals visited ISU on October 20, 2009 as part of its "Appeals on Wheels" program.
Political Science Students Serve at the Statehouse
Four political science students served as legislative assistants during the 2009 session of the Indiana General Assembly. Students had the opportunity to assist legislators with many components of the law making process.
Poli Sci Provides Student, Alumni Commencement Speakers
Political Science was well represented on
the platform during the May 2009 ISU Commencement. Graduating Senior
Sadie May Davis was the student speaker, and Roger Schmelzer (B.S. '79,
MPA '81) was the alumni speaker. Davis also
received the Alan C. Rankin Distinguished Senior Award, and the John W.
Moore Award as Outstanding Senior President's Scholar.
