Today we left. Most of the day was spent in the air. My mom, dad, and I left Rockville at 11:00 o'clock. We went to Terre Haute to pick up Erin and Patrick. We took I-70 to Plainfield where we went to McDonald's for lunch. I had fish and fries. After lunch, we got back on the road again and headed for the airport. We arrived there at 1:15 p.m. We unloaded our bags from the van and went to the Northwest terminal, where we met the rest of the group. The group checked in the bags and got our boarding passes. Patrick, Erin, and I changed some American money into British pounds. On the way back to the gate, we found a Ritter's Frozen Custard stand and Erin, Mom, Dad, and I got some kind of ice cream. I had a Heath Blizzard, which was wonderful. After finishing our ice cream, we made our way to the gate. My parents then told us goodbye and we went through security. After passing through the metal detectors, we went to our actual gate, sat, and waited to board. We boarded the plane around 3:15 and the flight left at 3:30. I had an aisle seat next to Nicole in the second to last row from the back. Billy Guy and Pat Jordan sat behind us. During the flight, Billy and Pat talked to the flight attendant and asked her questions about flying and about traveling. The flight lasted for 1‡ hours and we arrived in Minneapolis, Minnesota around 4:15 Minnesota time. We had a 2‡ layover there, so Erin, Patrick, Aurmaudra, and I got pizzas at California Pizza ASAP. I had a five cheese and tomato pizza and water. We ate our pizzas at the gate. We boarded the plane at 6:20 and left at 6:50. My seat was on the aisle in the front row of the economy class. I had all the legroom that I wanted and I took full advantage of that. Next to me sat two English gentlemen, named John and Ian, who were heading back home. They were engineers that were in charge of developing new products in, I believe, software. They had been in Minnesota for business and they told me that they travel all over the world for their company. John informed me that they were in Belgium last week and they had been in the States about a month ago. John and I carried on a conversation for the first hour and a half of the flight. We discussed where our group was staying, what we were going to do, and he gave me suggestions about what we should definitely see while in London. He recommended the Science Museum, British Museum, Tower of London, Buckingham Palace, and the London Dungeon. We talked about Princess Diana and how much she meant to the United Kingdom. John also told me his opinion of the French, how they are very stubborn, and how they are different from the English. He made the comment about how all the other countries in Europe are nice except the French. After our discussion about the French, John told me about how he missed his children. I learned that he has two boys, a five year old and a five month old. During our conversation, I heard a few English words. He talked about how people eat chips, which are French fries. Also, I heard the word rubbish used quite a bit. John was a very nice person and I enjoyed talking to him. For our dinner on the airplane, I had pasta, a salad, a roll, cheese and cracker, and German chocolate cake. After dinner, I fell asleep and slept most of the night.
