General Education Capstone Course: PSY 485
PSY 485 (Psychology and Society) has been approved as a General Education Capstone course in Psychology. This course will fulfill the General Education capstone requirement for 2nd semester Juniors or Seniors, and will count as an ELECTIVE in Psychology.
Note: PSY 485 will NOT fulfill the culminating experience requirement for the Psychology Major. Students must take either PSY 484 (Field Placement), PSY 486 (Research in Psychology) or PSY 499H (Honor's Thesis) to meet the culminating experience requirement. Students planning to take PSY 484 must complete PSY 384 with a grade of B or better.
PSY 485 is a revolving topics course; it will be taught by different faculty focused on different social issues each semester. The anticipated schedule is:
Fall, 2008 --- Dr. Sheets “Ecology and Human Responsibility”
Spring, 2009 --- Dr. Johnson: Psychology and Music
Fall, 2009 -- Dr. O'Laughlin: Child/Family Well-Being
