Structural Validity of Spiritual and Religious Dimensions in
Relation to Alcohol Use
This was a talk given at the meeting of the Society of
Behavioral Medicine in March, 2003. It presents the results of a
factor analysis of 29 measures of Religiousness and Spirituality, as
well as data on the relationship of those dimensions to alcohol use
and problems in college students.

Religion and Spirituality in College Students: Separate
Dimensions with Unique and Common Correlates
This was a talk given at the 14th Annual Institute on College
Student Values Conference on February 6, 2004. The topic of the
conference was: Soul Searching: Trends and Patterns in College
Student Spirituality. The slides cover our research on dimensions of
religiousness and spirituality, how those dimensions may change over
time, and correlates of the dimensions.

Care Provider’s Role in Addressing Spiritual and Religious
Concerns in Cancer Patients
This was a talk given at the 25th Annual Meeting of the Society
of Behavioral Medicine on March 25, 2004, as part of a symposium
with Dr. Carl Thoresen and Dr. Carlo DiClemente. The talk presents
some information about a the OASIS project, a brief physician
delivered spirituality intervention, as well as how our research on
dimensions of R/S in college students has informed our attempts to
understand the effects of the physician intervention.
