Dr. Bennett received his B.S. in psychology from George Fox University in 1996. After a few years away from academia, he returned to school and earned his Ph.D. in social psychology at the University of Nevada, Reno in 2005. Dr. Bennett’s areas of interest include the social psychology of religion, social psychology of health, self and identity, statistics, and research methods. His research focuses primarily on the interface between religion and health, with a particular emphasis on the impact of prayer about traumatic life experiences on physical and emotional health outcomes. Dr. Bennett commonly teaches undergraduate courses in statistics, research methods, general psychology and he teaches specialty courses on the psychology of religion and religion, spirituality, and health.
