Nancy Brattain Rogers is the Director of the Center for Community Engagement,
and Professor in the Department of Recreation and Sport Management. She has been
at Indiana State University since 1995 and with the Center since 2003. Nancy's
husband, Don is a faculty member in the Department of Recreation and Sport
Management. They have two children, Laura and Jonathan.

Heather Dalton Miklozek is the Associate Director for the Center for Community
Engagement. Heather assists faculty with incorporating Service-Learning in the
classroom and Coordinates Alternative Spring Break. She has been at Indiana
State for five years in a professional role through Residential Life and Student
Activities and Organizations and as a student by receiving her BS in Recreation
and Sports Management (1998) and MS in Student Affairs and Higher Education at
Indiana State (2002). Her husband, Frank Miklozek III, and two daughters Isabel
and Adelaide reside in Riley, IN. She is looking forward to fostering community
relations through the Center and providing students and faculty classroom
experiences that will benefit our community and the students overall classroom
experience.

Jennifer Christian is the Americorps Program Coordinator for the Center for Community Engagement. Jennifer’s primary function in the Center for Community Engagement is to oversee the Americorps program at Indiana State University and the surrounding community. She has been at Indiana State since July of 2011 in a professional role through Residential Life, and as a student by receiving her BS in Communication Studies and Radio, TV, Film (2003) and MS in Human Resource Development at Indiana State (2005). Her husband, Kevon Christian, is the Assistant Director of Residential Life here at ISU. They have one son, Ethan who is 2 ½ years old, and their second child is scheduled to arrive in September of 2012. Jennifer is looking forward to fostering community relations through the Americorps program.

Jody Dean began working in the Center for Community Engagement in April of 2011
and is a 1995 graduate of ISU. She is married and has two children, Carmen and
Derek. When not working, Jody enjoys spending time with her family and helping
out at her children’s elementary school.

Cat Paterson has served as a Faculty Fellow in the Center for Community
Engagement since 2008. Her work focuses on Assessment of CCE programs and the
Curricular Engagement Survey of Courses. Cat joined the ISU faculty in 1998 and
is an Associate Professor in the Department of Applied Medicine and
Rehabilitation. She currently teaches Biomedical Ethics and Medical Terminology.
Cat, along with her husband Andy, enjoy cooking, entertaining, thoroughbred race
horses and college football in her spare time.

A member of the Department of History faculty since 2004, Steve Stofferahn now also serves as a Faculty Fellow in the Center for Community Engagement. Having received several Focus Indiana grants to integrate experiential learning and community service into his courses, Steve will be drawing upon that background as he develops ISU’s new Service-Learning Scholars program. He and his wife, Maggie, enjoy the challenge of keeping up with their three young children, two cats, and a very hairy dog.

Kara Lynn Westfall is the Programming and Recruiting graduate assistant for the Center for Community Engagement. She is working on her MS in Student Affairs and Higher Education. Kara completed her undergraduate work at the University of Southern Indiana, receiving a B.A. in English, with an emphasis in Writing and Rhetoric, and minor in Marketing (2010). After Kara graduated from the University of Southern Indiana, she spent a year in Virginia working for Virginia Tech. Originally from southern Indiana, Kara is happy to be home and close to family. During her free time, Kara enjoys golfing with her husband and taking their dog, Oakley, for long walks.
