Incomplete Grading Instructions


Note: Undergraduate courses must be complete within one year after semester of enrollment.


Assigning Incomplete Grade via Final Grade Worksheet

  1. This option is only available during Final Grade Processing.
  2. Login to MyISU portal.
  3. Click on the Reporting Services tab.
  4. Click on Final Grades.
  5. Select Term from the drop down menu and click Submit.
  6. Select desired class.
  7. Find the student and click on the IN/IP link.
  8. Assign a Due Date (up to a year from now minus one day).
  9. Select a Default Grade from the drop down menu.
  10. Enter requirements.
  11. Click Submit, (IN/IP grades are saved once you click submit).
  12. Click on Final Grade Worksheet link to verify grade assignment and to continue grading other students in that course as needed.

Deleting Inadvertent Assignment of Incomplete Grade

  1. This option is only available during Final Grade Processing.
  2. Login to MyISU portal.
  3. Click on the Reporting Services tab.
  4. Click the Incomplete/In Progress Grades link.
  5. Ensure Ungraded is selected from the drop-down menu. If it isn’t, choose it and click Change Selection.
  6. Click on the student's name.
  7. Click the Delete? check box at bottom of form.
  8. Click the Delete button.
  9. Confirm deletion by clicking the Delete? check box, and the Delete button.
  10. To continue grading other students in the course, Click the Final Grade Worksheet link at the bottom of the page.

Assignment of Final Grade

  1. Go to MyISU portal and login.
  2. Click on the Faculty tab
  3. Click 'Incomplete Grades' link under the 'Faculty Quick Links' heading. This will take you directly to the semester drop-down box to enter grades
  4. Select desired term from drop-down box; click Submit Term
  5. Terms and courses with outstanding IN grades from 200205-present will appear with most recent term first.
  6. Click on name of student for desired term and course.
  7. Select final grade from drop down box.
  8. Click submit button once.
  9. Review grade and click check box if grade is correct and click submit button once. If grade is incorrect for this student, go to bottom of screen and click Incomplete Grade Listing link to reselect student and assign correct grade.
  10. Please do not use the browser back button. Click on Return to Incomplete Listing to remove IN grade for additional students.

Extending Due Date for Incomplete Grade

  1. Go to MyISU portal and login.
  2. Click on the Reporting Services tab.
  3. Click 'Incomplete/In Progress' link under the 'Grades' heading. This will take you directly to the semester drop-down box to enter grades
  4. Select desired term from drop-down box; click Submit Term
  5. Select CRN from drop-down box; click Submit CRN
  6. Enter Student ID Number - or- Last Name, First Name. Click Submit. Verify your selection is correct. Click Submit.
  7. Change Due Date to desired Due Date. Click Submit. New due date is reflected. Change history appears below.
