Gender Inclusive Housing
Residence Life strives to provide a safe, inclusive, comfortable, and supportive living environment for all students residing in university-owned and university-operated housing. We offer the option of gender inclusive housing for students who, because of gender identity or gender expression, prefer this option. We work with students who identify as gender non-conforming* or transgender* in choosing the housing option that best meets their needs and allow these students the ability to choose a roommate of any gender.
If a student is in need of a gender inclusive room assignment, our team will work with you in a personal and confidential manner to discuss the options available to you and assist you in identifying the option that best fits with your preferences and needs. It is important to connect with us early in the process so that we may provide you with the widest range of housing options.
To discuss your interest and the available options, please contact one of our team members:
- Jason Johnson, Associate Director of Academic Initiatives - Jason.Johnson@indstate.edu
- Doug Howell, Associate Director of Business Operations - Doug.Howell@indstate.edu
Available Housing Options include:
- A single or double room with a private bath
- A single or double occupancy apartment
- A double room in the Gender Inclusive Community
