The morning of August 17 the LLC did a service project at Catholic Charities in Terre Haute. Forty-three (43) member and the LLC advisors travels to the site courtesy of Terre Haute Transit. The morning was spent doing a variety of activities. Members were divided into groups and assigned areas:
Ø Assist with the pre-school
Ø Help prepare lunch for the soup kitchen
Ø Unpack donated food items
Ø Lawn care
Ø Cleaning
Ø Sorting donated office/school supplies
Ø Organize the library
Ø Organize the Christmas Store
Members interacted with the staff, volunteers and children at the center. Members learned about the service provided by Catholic Charities. In addition, many of the members experienced first-hand how the Terre Haute community supports the many programs offered. LLC members enjoyed their morning helping out. Several members returned throughout the academic year to help with other programs and volunteered their time.
