9-11 Candlelight Vigil
The 9-11 Candlelight Vigil started in 2002 shortly after the tragedy, and has become an annual event. The event consists of a welcome, songs, a poem, a candlelit walk in silence through campus, a short speech by someone connected to the events, and a non-denominational prayer. The program is sponsored by the Panhellenic Council, Residence Hall Association, and Catholic Campus Ministries. Each year, 800 or more students, staff, faculty, and community members participate.
