Becoming a miss Indiana State University Contestant

Miss Indiana State University will represent the University at the Miss Indiana Scholarship Program in June of 2011 with the right to represent Indiana at Miss America.
Miss Indiana State University will receive a $1500 scholarship ($1000 from the ISU Foundation and $500 from the ISU Bookstore). The 1st runner up receives a $500 scholarship from the ISU Foundation. The 2nd runner up receives a $250 gift card from the ISU Bookstore.
Eligibility
The Miss Indiana State University Scholarship Program is open to any woman who is:
- At least 17 years of age by November 1, 2010 and no older 24 on December 31, 20109
- A United States Citizen
- An Indiana State University student (full time undergraduate or graduate)
- Meets character criteria as set forth by the Miss America Organization
- In reasonably good health to meet the job requirements;
- Willing to raise money for the Children's Miracle Network and must reach a minimum goal to compete ($100 for 2010 contestants). It is easy to raise money using the great online system at missamerica4kids.org
- An Indiana Resident or has attended college in Indiana for at least one semester prior to competing
informational Meeting
You are encouraged to attend the Informational Meeting at 6:00 pm on Thursday, September 2, 2010 in HMSU 321. At the informational meeting you will receive additional information about the program.
Rehearsals
Contestants are expected to attend (exception will be made if in class at that time) the following rehearsals from 6-8 pm in Arena B93

Full Dress Rehearsal (mandatory practice)Held in University Hall
Rehearsals will include: meeting other contestants, signing of contracts to participate, talent practice, opening numbers, walking on stage, preparation for personal interview, review of judging guidelines, etc.
Other Opportunities
Contestants will be given the opportunity to:
- Schedule a meeting with a staff member in the Career Center to practice interviewing skills.
- Volunteer during Family Day cookout and ice cream social on Saturday, October 30.
- Raise funds for the Miss ISU Scholarship Program through a People’s Choice competition.
- Participate in Homecoming activities including Blue and White Parade (Week of October 1st-9th).
Contracts
Each contestant will be asked to sign a contract prior to competing. Board of Directors will provide a printed copy of this contract. 2011 Contract click here.
Program booklet requirements
For the program booklet you will be photographed (a head and shoulder picture) by the University Photographer (at not charge to you)
Provide information (form will be provided during rehearsal)
your name as you wish it printed;
your year in college;
your hometown;
your college major;
your platform title
your talent including song title if applicable
required forms and photo to be submitted
