The Gongaware Center for Insurance Management Development
The Gongaware Center for Insurance Management Development was established early this year in the School of Business at Indiana State University. The Center was created to support the School of Business' Insurance and Risk Management program and is the result of a bequest from Donald F. and Patricia R. Gongaware. Don Gongaware retired in March 1998 as executive vice president and chief operations officer of Conseco, Inc., where he remains active as a director on the Conseco Board.
The Gongaware gift will allow the Center and its first executive director, Steven H. Pahl, to fulfill its twin missions that are to:
-
Undertake cooperative ventures with the insurance and financial services industry as a means of developing current personnel into industry leaders.
-
Attract and recruit additional numbers of high ability students to ISU's Insurance and Risk Management program.
