College of Business Scholarships

Indiana State University College of Business has scholarship opportunities for entering students; continuing students; and graduate students and the criteria for these scholarships are listed below.  Scholarship applications are due by January 31 of each year.  This application is valid for all College of Business non-program scholarships.  You need to apply for the scholarship opportunity that you are eligible for: freshman, continuing student or graduate student. The separate application links are below. Please note that the Networks and Gongaware Scholarships are separate and have different deadlines and applications. Please see the links for these scholarships in the criteria boxes below.

Note: You must maintain the criteria standards of the scholarship in order to keep your scholarship. (i.e. major, GPA, class standing, ect.) If your information changes from your application (i.e. full-time to part-time) your scholarship could be revoked or the amount could change.

To submit your information, please follow directions below: 

  1. Obtain a copy of your DARS or information on your current GPA (for entering students) and then click the link below to display the web form.
  2. Print a copy of the blank web form (for best results, click on Print Version in the upper right corner of your screen) and then fill it in with pencil to make sure that you have included all relevant information. Note that each essay question must be prepared in a separate word processing file in order to be attached to the application.
  3. Return to the web form and complete your on-line application.   Note:  You may only submit your information one time, so make sure your information is correct before you submit. 
  4. Before submitting, follow the directions on the application. You will be asked to print one or two copies of your application.
  5. Sign the confirmation form and submit it to the

The Scholarship committee will review the information that you have entered on-line. 

The scholarship applications deadline for the next  academic year is January 31.

Scholarship Criteria

Networks Scholarship

  • Recipient must be an incoming freshman with HS GPA of 3.25, SAT score of 1000, and be in top third of high school class.
  • Recipient must have demonstrated leadership experience.
  • Recipient must declare a business major or minor and intend to work in the financial services sector.

Gongaware Scholarship

O. Earl and Tina Elliott Scholarship

 

  • Recipient must be an incoming freshman from Vigo County, Indiana enrolled full time with declared major in the College of Business.
  • First preference will be to students majoring in accounting, management, or management information systems.
  • Recipient must have maintained a 3.0 cumulative grade point average on a 4.0 scale while in high school.
  • Preference will be given to students who have demonstrated leadership qualities, community service activities and/or a desirable work ethic.
 
John C. & Jennie J. Figg Scholarship
  • Entering or continuing student in the College of Business.
  • Preference given to student preparing for a career in real estate or majoring in   business.
Maurice and Marian Kessel Scholarship
  • Entering student who plans to enroll as a full-time student in the College of Business.

Continuing Students Scholarships

Scholarship Criteria
Dr. Theodore Bakerman Memorial Scholarship
  • Must have declared a major in the College of Business
  • Must demonstrate financial need
John E. Booth, Jr. Memorial 
Scholarship
  • Currently enrolled student in the College of Business.
  • Over the age of 21.
  • Completed at least 12 credit hours at Indiana State University at the time of application.
  • Preference given to students re-entering school or part-time because of work or family.
John C. & Jennie J. Figg Scholarship
  • Entering or continuing student in the College of Business.
  • Preference given to student preparing for a career in real estate or majoring in   business.
Welby M. Frantz Scholarship 
  • An outstanding student enrolled in the College of Business.
General Telephone Electronics Scholarship
  • College of Business sophomore, junior, or senior students from Vigo, Clay, Sullivan, or Putnam counties in Indiana.
Doris D. Green Memorial Scholarship 
  • Progress towards a degree in the College of Business.
  • May be renewed while pursuing a degree and maintaining acceptable scholastic records.
Jo Ann F. Johnson Scholarship
  • To a woman pursuing a four-year degree at Indiana State University's College of Business with a minimum of 3.0 GPA.
  • Some degree of financial need.
  • A Vigo County student or resident.
Edwin W. and Mary Ann Miller Scholarship in Business
  • Must be worthy full-time student with declared major in the College of Business
  • 3.0 minimum GPA (cumulative)
  • Financial need may be considered
Carl E. Parks Scholarship
  • Senior in College of Business who has made the greatest progress through the junior year toward a career in business and/or business education.
William G. "Bill" Riley Endowed Scholarship in Business
  • First consideration will be to a member of Pi Kappa Alpha ("PIKE") fraternity.
  • College of Business undergraduate junior or senior or a graduate MBA student who holds a minimum of 3.0 GPA
Forrest G. Sherer Scholarship 
  • Junior or senior business major with a cumulative 2.6 GPA average.
  • Renewable.
Mrs. And Mrs. Joe Walker Scholarship
  • Preferably a needy and worthy student in the College of Business.
Shepherd Young Memorial Scholarship
  • To worthy students majoring in business and Indiana State University.
*Carl N. Miller, Sr. Memorial Scholarship
  • College of Business student with interest in real estate.
  • Having satisfactorily completed at least 3 hours in real estate.
  • Completed five semesters with a 2.5 GPA.
  • Resident of Indiana with preference to Vigo, Vermillion, or Sullivan Counties.
John Thompson Moore Memorial Scholarship
  • A needy and deserving student enrolled in the College of Business
Paul F. & Belvie J. Muse--School of Business Scholarship
  • College of Business major with scholarship ability, on basis of GPA at Indiana State University.
  • Financial need.
Professor A.C. Payne Memorial Scholarship
  • Declared major in the College of Business
  • Indiana Resident
  • Financial need
Thelma F. Mills Scholarship
  • Must be a undergraduate student(s) engaged in a meaningful work experience related to their vocational/professional objectives which does not average more than 20 hours per week during the academic year.
  • Recipients making adequate progress towards a specific degree will remain eligible for renewal.
Wall Street Journal Award
  • Outstanding business major.
  • Academic excellence and achievement.
  • Graduating May or August, 2004.

Graduate Student Scholarships

Scholarship Criteria
Wilson M. House Memorial M.B.A. Scholarship
  • Student in the Master of Business Administration program who graduated from a high school in Indiana or a surrounding state.
Sue House Salmon Memorial Scholarship
  • Graduate student in the College of Business who has demonstrated academic achievement and has graduated from a high school located in Indiana or a surrounding state (including Illinois, Michigan, Kentucky, and Ohio).
William G. "Bill" Riley Endowed Scholarship in Business
  • First consideration will be to a member of Pi Kappa Alpha ("PIKE)" fraternity.
  • College of Business undergraduate junior of senior or a graduate MBA student who holds a minimum of 3.0 GPA
