RURAL HEALTH SCHOLARSHIP

The Rural Health Scholarship Program is designed specifically to prepare students from rural Indiana to return to their hometowns, or a similar town, as a primary care physician. Indiana State University and Indiana University School of Medicine have joined together to develop this unique program.

For consideration for this award, candidates must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, a 1200 SAT (combined critical reading and mathematics) or a 27 ACT, and reside in rural Indiana.

Selection is highly competitive and based upon academic and personal accomplishments, as well as performance in a winter interview competition. Admission to Indiana University School of Medicine requires students to successfully complete the undergraduate program at Indiana State with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.5 and a score on the MCAT equal to the mean score of the previous year's entering class.
