Sexual Violence and Harassment Process

For full details and information, visit the Sexual Violence Violence and Response website.

When a sexual harassment or sexual violence incident has occurred, and ISU staff, police, or other official has been notified then the complainant/victim will be informed of his or her options of how to proceed.

All information regarding the case will be sent to the Office of Student Conduct and Integrity (SCI) as well as the Office of Affirmative Action/Title IX Coordinator.

The Title IX Coordinator will investigate the incident and interview those involved (complainant/victim, accused student, and relevant witnesses).  The coordinator will determine if a policy violation occurred.

The Title IX Coordinator will report the findings of the investigation to SCI.  If the coordinator concludes that a policy violation did occur, the All-University Court will conduct a decision hearing to determine what consequence will come to the accused.  This is not a rehearing of the case or an opportunity to appeal the findings of the Title IX Coordinator.  The All-University Court will review the conclusions of the coordinator in order to determine the University response to the findings.

Should a student be found not responsible for violating the sexual harassment or sexual violence policy, the Office of Student Conduct and Integrity may still respond to other violations of University policy.
