SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENTS/PROGRAMS:
Welcome to the Center for Science Education. Students interested in pursuing a science education degree may choose from the Bachelor of Arts (A.B.) or the Bachelor of Science (B.S.). The Master's of Science (M.S.) is undergoing revision.
The Center's primary duty is the preparation of teachers through the science methods course for the elementary education major (SCED 393 & 393L), the middle school methods course (SCED 396L), and the secondary methods course (SCED 398L). The Center is also responsible for the advisement of any student (undergraduate or graduate) interested in teaching in any of the following areas: Chemistry, Earth Science, Life Sciences, Physics, and Physical Science.
To graduate with an undergraduate degree you will need to complete 35 hours as a minimum of General Education and 56-64 major hours depending upon which areas you have selected. The professional education requirement is 33-35 hours.
There is a high demand for science teachers in middle/junior high and high schools!
